Medaglia d’Oro Filly Graduates at Belmont

WEDDING DRESS (f, 2, Medaglia d’Oro–Raw Silk {GSW, $201,958}, by Malibu Moon) missed by just a neck last time in her 1 1/16-mile debut over the Saratoga lawn Aug. 16 and was given a 3-1 chance to go one better here. Away well from the outside post in this 12-horse affair, the bay bided her time running two wide near the back of the pack through early splits of :23.17 and :46.77. Advancing up the outside on the backstretch, she launched a four wide bid turning for home, gained control in early stretch and steadily kicked for home to score a narrow decision over the rail skimming Laquesta (Lemon Drop Kid). The final time for the one-mile turf test was 1:35.31. Lifetime Record: 2-1-1-0.
